Level 3 Award in Repair and Maintenance of Traditional Buildings-delivered on-line for the first time

February 2021

This much loved, accredited course is back! We were thrilled to once again be able to offer this course to people who want to learn about old buildings and gain a recognised qualification.

We have been delivering this course for many years in towns throughout Wales. Delivering the course on-line was a whole new experience but was equally enjoyable. It was great to meet people from a range of different backgrounds- facilities managers, carpenters, contractors, surveyors, and designers to name but a few.

Here is some feedback from the day:

"Two days of clearly explained information, full of content and insight. Well presented to maintain interest levels throughout - it is a qualification I value and intend to make great use of."

"Thanks, Tom and Nell. I really enjoyed the two days. I think the courses take place in a relaxed yet focussed environment that really works. I am fascinated by the content but even so, you made the days fly by."

Jeremy Richardson

"A great way to find out the right approach to practical conservation of historic buildings. The course also includes practical advice on the use of lime mortars, how to spot defects in historic buildings and how to go about repairing them. The trainers are friendly and approachable and share their knowledge gained through working in the heritage sector."

Wills McNally

"Large parts of this course (if not all) should be mandatory for anyone studying/working in construction, particularly young people starting out and anyone working in the retrofit industry. Overall I think the course was fantastic, very interesting and engaging"
