Tomasz Czech from Ellis & Co (Restoration and Building), was one of four learners to successfully complete the Specialist Applied Skills Programme (SAP) in Heritage Plastering. Tomasz was awarded an NVQ3 Diploma in Heritage Plastering having completed the 18 month programme of training and assessment.

Ellis & Co, based in Somerset, are award winning experts in the conservation, repair and renovation of historic and ecclesiastical buildings. They have supported two of their employees to follow the SAP programme. They explained ‘Having a qualified workforce is important to us because when applying to tender for work via ‘pre-qualification questions’, Ellis & Co are often asked about staff qualifications. Having more staff with Heritage qualifications always helps getting on to an Architects tender list for a given project.

Ellis and Co said ‘Tomasz has been employed with Ellis & Co as a plasterer for over 7 years, he has never had any formal training in the U.K before the SAP in Heritage Plastering.  His ability with plaster has always been good and so after discussing it with him we decided that now was as good a time as any to follow the training.

‘Tomasz enjoyed his training and we are pleased that he successfully achieved his NVQ3. We would happily recommend the training to others.’
